Biography

Jie Yang is an assistant professor at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. She received her Ph.D. from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Her research focuses on the intersection of organization theory and strategy, specifically exploring socially constructed ideas, institutions, identities, and categories, as well as how firms and individuals react to various ideas. Her work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Management and Research Policy, and featured in the Academy of Management's Paper Proceedings. Before joining Asper, Dr. Yang served as an assistant professor of strategic management at SUNY Polytechnic Institute and taught courses in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at York University starting in 2017. Dr. Yang is also interested in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with her research contributing to knowledge and impact in the realm of sustainable development.
