Dr. Jill De Jong

Biography

Jill De Jong, MD PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago, specializing in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Her clinical interests encompass a range of hematologic conditions including anemias, autoimmune blood diseases, hematopoietic malignancies, and bleeding disorders. Dr. De Jong has dedicated her research to the genetic aspects of pediatric cancers, particularly focusing on hematopoietic stem cells and the genetic risks associated with hematologic malignancies. She serves as the co-director of the Pediatric Cancer Genetic Risk Clinic and the Pediatric Bone Marrow Failure Clinic, where she leverages her expertise to improve outcomes for children with severe blood disorders. Her extensive training includes a Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Boston Children's Hospital and a Residency in Pediatrics. She has published several research articles, especially relating to severe aplastic anemia and molecular profiling of tumors. In recognition of her contributions, she has received national accolades such as the Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctor award in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology and the Pritzker Scholar Award.
