Dr. Jill Deutsch

Biography

Jill Deutsch, MD, is an Assistant Professor at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in gastroenterology, particularly in functional gastrointestinal disorders. She has a passion for improving patient care through both medical expertise and complementary alternative medicine. Jill completed her medical education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry – New Jersey Medical School, followed by a residency at Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School, where she was a Chief Medical Resident. She is the director of the Yale Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders Program and has been awarded the Kushlan Award for Excellence in Clinical Care. Her research interests include functional gastrointestinal disorders and their treatment, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered approaches. Jill is also committed to education, having been awarded a grant to develop a Neurogastroenterology Motility Curriculum for GI fellows. As an advocate for wellness, she integrates her experiences as a certified yoga instructor into her practice, aiming to enhance the well-being of her patients and residents. Furthermore, she serves as an associate editor for the Fellows Young GI Section of Digestive Diseases & Sciences.
