Dr. Jill Sheppard

Biography

Jill Sheppard is a Lecturer in the School of Politics and International Relations at the Australian National University. She has a background in political science, holding a BA from RMIT, an MA from Monash University, and a PhD from the Australian National University. Her research interests focus on comparative political behavior, electoral systems, compulsory voting, survey design methodology, and the supervision of research students. Throughout her career, she has engaged in numerous projects related to political trust, satisfaction with democracy, and community attitudes towards sensitive issues such as abortion. Jill has actively contributed to the understanding of electoral processes and political engagement through her research outputs and collaborations within Australia and internationally. Over the past five years, she has worked on several significant projects, building a strong network in the field of political science.
