Biography

Jill Zdunich obtained her undergraduate graduate education from the University of Saskatchewan (USask) with degrees in BA and BSN in 1997 and 2001, respectively, and completed her MN in 2016. She has been teaching at the College of Nursing since 2006, focusing on maternal child health. Jill has an extensive background in perinatal nursing, with clinical experience that includes bedside nursing in the Maternity Newborn Unit and working with the Healthy Home Early Maternal Visiting Program. She has a special interest in supporting breastfeeding families and attained Canadian Nurses Association certification in Perinatal Nursing in 2018, which she renews through ongoing learning. Her clinical teaching spans obstetrical nursing, where she instructs Maternal Care Services and guides 3rd-year students in foundational obstetrical theory classes and coordinates clinical courses for 2nd and 4th-year students. Jill possesses a strong foundation in acute care nursing across various specialties, including general, thoracic, vascular surgery, and burn trauma nursing, showcasing her interest in health promotion and her commitment to practice. She values connecting with nursing students of all levels and creatively enhancing their learning experience.
