Biography

Jillian joined the Adam Smith Business School in 2014 as a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2016 and then to Professor of Entrepreneurship in 2021. She has extensive teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate taught, and postgraduate research levels, particularly in MBA programs. Throughout her career, Jillian has collaborated closely with industry stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver education programs. She is a co-investigator on a €4.5 million Horizon 2020 project which examines the legitimization of new technologies such as the Internet of Things and 6G technology innovation. Additionally, she is involved in a €1.2 million European Union HIE project that supports data-driven entrepreneurship among a consortium of European universities. Her current research focuses on emerging entrepreneurial ventures, fluid ethics, and digital entrepreneurship trends, particularly exploring the practice logic of entrepreneurship in social contexts. Jillian has published her research in leading international journals, including the Harvard Business History Review and the Journal of Business Ethics. From 2019 to 2022, she served as the Director of Learning and Teaching at her school, where she successfully devised a strategy for learning and teaching, securing investments for resources and support for teaching innovation, and overseeing several strategic initiatives.
