Biography

Jillian N. Pearring is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School, specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Cell Developmental Biology. She holds a joint appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science and the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology. She is a member of the Center for Cell Plasticity and Organ Design. The lab investigates the molecular and cellular processes involved in the formation and maintenance of light-sensitive outer segment organelles in mature photoreceptors. Dr. Pearring is dedicated to developing therapeutic strategies for patients with inherited blindness. She completed her PhD at the University of Louisville in 2010 and was a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University in Ophthalmology.
