Biography

Jim Daniels is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of English at Carnegie Mellon University, where he has taught creative writing since 1981. He has also played a pivotal role in community engagement through initiatives like the Challenges of Dream: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Writing Awards for Pittsburgh-area students, which he founded in 1999. His dedication to education has earned him several awards, including the Ryan Award for Excellence in Teaching from Carnegie Mellon.
