Biography

Z. Jimmy Zhou is a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at Yale University School of Medicine. He holds the Marvin L. Sears Professorship and is also a Professor in Cellular and Molecular Physiology and Neuroscience. His research primarily focuses on the neurobiology of the retina and retinal diseases. He completed his PhD at the University of Houston in 1989, following a master's degree in 1984 and a bachelor's degree in 1982, also from the University of Houston and Fudan University respectively. His postdoctoral training was conducted at UCLA, where he developed further expertise in research relevant to ophthalmology. Professor Zhou has published numerous papers and has a keen interest in understanding the physiological processes underlying vision and retinal health.
