Biography

Jin Kim Montclare is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. His research focuses on engineering proteins to mimic natural systems, aiming to develop customized artificial proteins for applications in drug delivery and tissue regeneration. He works on creating nanomaterials for electronics, utilizing multidisciplinary expertise in chemistry and genetic engineering. Before joining NYU Tandon in July 2005, Montclare completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the California Institute of Technology in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Fordham University (1997) and both a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from Yale University (2001, 2003). Montclare has received numerous awards for his work, including the AAAS Leshner Fellowship and the ACS Rising Star Award, and holds several patents and authored numerous publications.
