Dr. Jin Tee

Biography

Associate Professor Jin Tee is a complex spine surgeon and neurosurgeon with clinical expertise in complex spine neurosurgery. He provides minimally invasive (MIS) and open surgical solutions for spinal pathologies and specializes in neurotrauma, metastatic brain disease, and hydrocephalus in the elderly population. As a member of the AOSpine International Trauma Knowledge Forum, he develops international standards to guide the treatment of spine trauma. He is a global partner in the AOSpine International RECODE-DCM (Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy) initiative and serves Head of Spine Neurotrauma Research at the National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI). He also collaborates with the Alfred Trauma Registry and the Alfred Trauma committee. Associate Professor Tee completed his postgraduate studies at Monash University and the University of Melbourne. He underwent an AOSpine North American Combined Neurosurgery Orthopaedic Complex Spine Fellowship at the Vancouver Spine Institute. At Alfred Hospital, he treats various spinal pathologies, particularly those related to trauma and cancer. He also consults at Frankston General Hospital and manages private practices at Epworth (Richmond), Peninsula Private (Frankston), and John Fawkner (Coburg). His rural practice includes engagements in Mildura and Castlemaine. His subspecialty interests encompass degenerative spinal disorders, spinal tumors, spinal deformities (such as scoliosis and kyphosis), brain trauma, and brain fluid flow dysfunction.
