Biography

Jincai Chang is an Associate Professor in the Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Southern California. He has over 20 years of experience in developing leading-edge software for reservoir simulation and optimization for strategic planning and large-scale oil and gas field development. His expertise includes linear programming, network flow, and numerical algorithms in software development. Chang has received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Southern California, along with his Ph.D. He has also held the position of a Senior Petroleum Engineer at Maraco. His primary research interests lie in integrated gas reservoir simulation and optimization for the development of oil and gas fields as well as storage facilities. In addition to his research, he teaches subjects such as Advanced Engineering Mathematics, Reservoir Engineering Fluid Properties, Economic Engineering Evaluation of Oil and Gas Reserves, and Numerical Reservoir Simulation.
