Biography

Dr. Jing Chen is a distinguished researcher specializing in cancer metabolism and drug development. He serves as the Janet Davison Rowley Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago, where he also directs the Basic Translational Science Section in Hematology/Oncology and is the inaugural director of the Cancer Metabolomics Research Center. Dr. Chen's research focuses on elucidating the signaling pathways underlying cancer metabolism and the nutritional influences that affect cancer response to therapy. His prior academic experience includes holding the R. Randall Rollins Chair in Oncology at Emory University, where he led the Cell and Molecular Biology Research Program at the Winship Cancer Institute. He has been recognized with multiple awards for his contributions to cancer research, including the Winship Cancer Institute Research Mentorship Award and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Chen completed his postdoctoral fellowship in cancer biology at Harvard Medical School after obtaining his PhD in Biochemistry & Cell Biology from Emory University and his BS in Molecular Biology from the University of Science and Technology of China.
