Biography

Jing Shuang (Lisa) Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, affiliated with the Michigan Neuroscience Institute. She received her Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto in 2018 and completed her PhD in Control and Dynamical Systems at California Institute of Technology in 2023. Her research interests include sparse control, distributed control, optimal control, and dynamical systems theory applications in engineering, as well as computational neuroscience. Li is particularly focused on the control of large-scale systems and the implications of communication constraints on system performance. Her work involves applying control theory to analyze and manipulate dynamical systems, notably in the context of neuroscience and sensorimotor behavior of animals. Recent publications have addressed challenges in control systems with unique constraints, and she aims to develop theories and algorithms to overcome these obstacles.
