Dr. Jing Wu

Biography

Jing Wu is an Associate Professor at the University of Gothenburg, focusing on the well-being of older adults within the contexts of welfare states, aging workforce, and aged care systems. With a Doctorate from Tallinn University in 2014, Wu's research encompasses critical areas such as active healthy aging, suicide prevention, and mental health promotion. Wu directs the International Master's Program in Strategic Human Resource Management and has been actively involved in various cross-cultural research projects aimed at enhancing resilience and preventing burnout among populations. A significant contributor to academic discourse, Wu's work intersects across multiple institutions and has been recognized through various prestigious awards, including the Carin Mannheimer Award for junior researchers. Wu has also taken a leadership role in organizing research conferences and is involved in significant collaborative projects that address the complexities of aging in different cultural contexts. Notably, Wu's past research initiatives include the Center for Aging and Health and the European Union-funded projects focused on mental health outcomes among the elderly. Wu is committed to supervising students and continues to integrate teachings on social dynamics and well-being in her courses.
