Biography

Jing Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2022. Her research focuses on the perspectives and experiences of Chinese international students in relation to race, racism, and racialization. Jing's scholarship explores topics such as international student mobility and the intersections of race, class, and nationality, particularly in the context of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging within U.S. higher education. She collaborates closely with student affairs organizations that support the international student population. Some of her selected publications include reflections on the research journey of Chinese doctoral students in America and investigations into their perceptions of racial justice movements during the COVID-19 pandemic.
