Dr. Jingling Chen

Biography

Jingling Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics at Illinois University. His research explores themes in Chinese literature, particularly in relation to Greek comparative literature and modern Chinese narrative. Chen has also engaged with modern Chinese intellectual history, contributing significantly to understanding the intersection of Chinese and Greek literary traditions. He maintains an additional affiliation as Assistant Professor with the East Asian Languages and Cultures Department and the Program in Comparative World Literature. His academic work includes publications that critically examine the appropriation of ancient Greek traditions in modern Chinese literature, as evidenced by his notable work titled 'Acropolis China: Appropriation Ancient Greek Tradition Modern Chinese Literature'.
