Biography

Jingmin Huang is a lecturer in the Department of Digital and Data-Driven Marketing at the University of Southampton. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow. Before entering academia, he worked for several years as a data mining and business analytics engineer with notable Chinese tech companies, including Alibaba. Jingmin's academic background also features a Master’s degree in Information Technology and a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Psychology from the University of Sydney, Australia. His research interests are multidisciplinary, primarily focusing on the application of machine learning methods to marketing and business intelligence. He has previously concentrated on using deep learning methodologies, particularly deep generative models, to enhance product exterior design through design generation and evaluative techniques, as well as market profit forecasting. In addition to these areas, Jingmin is interested in agent-based modeling and neural-inspired computing. He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including Digital Media Analytics.
