Biography

Jinguang Hu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary, Canada. He leads the Biomass & Biorefinery Research Lab and his current research, supported by the Canada Research Excellence Fund, focuses on biomass valorization, sustainable energy, bioinspired materials/systems, and protein engineering with applications in energy, environment, and biomedicine. Hu has published approximately 200 papers in leading journals such as Energy & Environmental Science, Journal of the Chemical Society, and Angewandte Chemie. He is an external advisory board member of the Canada Biomass Energy Network and a Research Fellow at the GBIC. He has received several awards including the S.C. Trindade Award and actively participates in the International Energy Agency Bioenergy division. Jinguang serves on the editorial boards of several journals, contributing significantly to the academic community in chemical and environmental engineering.
