Biography

Dr. Jingxin Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. His laboratory focuses on the design of new chemical probes and drug-like molecules to treat diseases through novel chemical and genetic methods of drug discovery. His major research directions include the functions of chemical probes, specifically targeting mechanisms that control RNA splicing and degradation, as well as developing chimeric small and macro-molecules that recruit new functions for RNAs. With extensive education and training, Wang obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Peking University and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. He further advanced his research through a postdoctoral fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute. He has received several prestigious awards including the NIH Maximizing Investigators' Research Award and the Parkinson’s Foundation Impact Award, reflecting his significant contributions to the field of chemical biology and RNA research.
