Biography

Dr. Jingyan Han is an Associate Professor at Boston University in the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She obtained her PhD from the University of Illinois and holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees from Peking University. Her research focuses on vascular biology, particularly the molecular mechanisms of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. She employs redox signaling to explore vascular endothelial cell dysfunction in response to hyperlipidemia, aging, and alcohol abuse. Her lab studies include the development of animal models for atherosclerosis and the application of redox proteomics and molecular biology techniques to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying endothelial function regulation. Dr. Han has also developed novel imaging systems for real-time vascular function measurement in murine models. Her ongoing research involves targeted drug delivery systems using redox-controllable nanoparticles to address challenges in treating cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Han has received multiple NIH grants supporting her work and has been recognized with awards such as the Special Recognition Award from the Chinese American Academy of Cardiology and the Evans Jr. Faculty Research Merit Award from Boston University.
