Biography

Jingyi (Christine) Sun earned her PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), where she was supervised by Scientific Professor T. David Waite. In November 2024, she began her role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW, under the supervision of Scientific Professor Liming Dai. Her PhD research focused on advanced wastewater treatment technology, specifically cathode-enhanced systems that enable selective remediation of inorganic and organic contaminants in wastewater. Currently, her research interests lie in designing and developing carbon-based electrodes for scalable electrochemical systems and reactors that transform waste, wastewater, and groundwater into valuable products. Additionally, she completed her Bachelor of Civil Engineering with First Class Honours from UNSW in 2021.
