Jinhong Yuan is a Professor and Head of the Telecommunications School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics Engineering in 1991 and 1997, respectively. He served as a Research Fellow at the School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sydney from 1997 to 1999, before joining the University of New South Wales in 2000. His contributions include being a co-inventor on patents related to MIMO systems and low-density-parity-check codes. His research has been recognized with several awards, including Paper Awards at prominent IEEE conferences. He is actively involved in the IEEE community, serving as the NSW Chair for the joint Communications/Signal Processing/Ocean Engineering Chapter and as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications and Wireless Communications.
