Biography

Jitesh H. Panchal is a Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, where he also serves as the Associate Head for Undergraduate Programs. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005, following an M.S. in the same field from the same institution in 2003, and a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati in 2000. His research interests encompass Computational Design, Socio-Technical Systems, Secure Design, Manufacturing Engineering Design, Self-Organized Virtual Communities, Integrated Products, and Materials Design. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the NSF CAREER Award in 2010 and the Ruth Joel Spira Award from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in 2018. Since 2010, he has also been named an Impactful Faculty Inventor by Purdue's Office of Technology Commercialization. His academic contributions are significant, backed by numerous publications, and he's actively engaged in teaching and mentoring students in Modern Mechanical Engineering principles.
