Biography

Jiwen Hu is an Assistant Professor at Linköping University, specializing in the development of advanced functional materials. His research incorporates molecular design and nanotechnology to address pressing biomedical and environmental challenges. Focusing on biomedical imaging, he is involved in the design and development of fluorescent probes and nanomaterials that enable high-resolution visualization of molecular interactions and biological processes, such as intracellular pH and tumor progression. In addition, his work on environmental monitoring utilizes fluorescence-based sensing systems to facilitate the rapid and selective detection of environmental pollutants, contributing innovative strategies for pollution mitigation. Prior to his current position, Jiwen served as a principal research engineer at Linköping University from 2020 to 2023 and held postdoctoral fellowships at both Linköping University and Shanghai University. He obtained his Ph.D. from Tongji University in 2016 and has a strong foundation in Molecular Surface Physics and Nanoscience. His research contributions aim to push the boundaries of how advanced materials can be utilized in both healthcare and sustainability sectors.
