Biography

Dr. Jiyoon Yi’s research program focuses on developing biologically contextualized AI models to forecast microbial behavior in complex food biosystems. Her interdisciplinary team integrates wet lab experiments with computational modeling to improve pathogen detection, characterize soil microbiome interactions, and predict microbial responses to dynamic conditions. She teaches Heat Mass Transfer in Biosystems for undergraduates and Machine Learning in Biosystems for graduate students.
