Biography

JJ Hoff, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Duke University School of Medicine. He also holds positions as the Assistant Medical Director for Duke Life Flight and the Medical Director for Duke Event Medicine. A Duke alumnus, he completed his graduate education at the Duke Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Prior to medical school, he was a high school biology teacher in New Jersey. Dr. Hoff served as Chief Resident at Duke and pursued an EMS fellowship at East Carolina University before joining the faculty. His academic interests encompass Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education, out-of-hospital medicine, critical care transport, event medicine, EMS quality improvement, and qualitative research.
