Biography

Jo-anne Cosgriff graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1999 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. She furthered her education with a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Yale University along with a Master of Public Health. Since joining the faculty of the Yale Primary Care Residency in 2006, she has made significant contributions to the department, receiving the George Thornton Teacher of the Year award in 2007. She became the Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit at Waterbury Hospital in 2009 and has held the position of Medical Director of Performance Improvement since 2012. In addition to her administrative duties, she regularly attends at the Waterbury ICU and enjoys close interactions with residents as well as maintaining an outpatient pulmonary practice in Middlebury. Outside of her professional life, she values time spent with her husband and children.
