Biography

Jo-Anne Wemmers is a professor at the School of Criminology at the Université de Montréal and leads the research team on Victims, Rights and Society at the International Centre for Comparative Criminology. She also co-directs the Legal Clinic for Victims of Criminal Acts at the Université de Montréal. Wemmers served as the Secretary General of the World Society of Victimology from 2006-2009 and was the President of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Quebec from 2010-2015. She is the editor of the International Review of Victimology and a member of the Canadian Partnership on International Justice.
