Biography

Jo-Louise Huq received her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Alberta's School of Business. She completed postdoctoral studies at the Haskayne School of Business, focusing on innovation in healthcare. Currently, Jo-Louise serves as an Assistant Professor (Teaching) at the Cumming School of Medicine in the Department of Community Health Sciences and also holds a secondment at the Haskayne School of Business in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Graduate Program, where she is the Program Director for the Precision Health Program. Her teaching duties include leading DBA and PhD programs and supervising DBA students, as well as teaching at the MBA and undergraduate levels. Her research interests revolve around wicked problems, innovation, and change within established industries and professions. She is actively engaged in research projects related to entrepreneurship, innovation in healthcare, social entrepreneurship, and the co-production of medical education, emphasizing significant institutional and organizational change. Jo-Louise is an organizational management theory scholar and a qualitative researcher, with published work in various peer-reviewed journals including the Academy of Management Journal and Organization Studies.
