Dr. Jo Cook

Biography

Jo Cook is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at University College London (UCL). She received her PhD in Anthropology from Cambridge University in 2006. Prior to joining UCL, Jo was a College Lecturer and Director of Studies in Anthropology at Pembroke College, Cambridge. She also held the position of George Kingsley Roth Research Fellow in Southeast Asian Studies at Christ’s College, Cambridge, and had a lectureship in Anthropology at Goldsmiths College, London. Jo has an extensive academic background, having served as an Academic Associate at the College of Religious Studies in Mahidol University and held visiting positions, including Senior Fellowship at the National University of Singapore and Scholar at Stanford University. In recognition of her work, she was awarded a British Academy Senior Research Fellowship for 2016-2017.
