Biography

Jo Dawes is a Principal Research Fellow in the Epidemiology & Public Health department at University College London. She is a National Institute for Health Research funded Doctoral Research Fellow based at the Collaborative Centre for Inclusion Health in the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care. Jo has substantial research experience and has worked as a physiotherapist in the NHS Scotland for years, specifically with the Greater Glasgow Primary Care Trust, where she was part of a specialist health and social care team focused on individuals experiencing homelessness. In 2008, she moved to London where she held senior lecturer positions at the University of East London and St George's University of London. Jo is a Fellow of Pathway, the UK's leading homeless healthcare charity, where she contributes to the annual Pathway conference and supports strategies for education in Inclusion Health. She has also contributed to Crisis by developing physiotherapy services that run alongside health services during the Christmas week. Her current research interests include frailty among people experiencing homelessness and the exploration of health conditions affecting this population.
