Dr. Jo Godbee

Biography

Jo Godbee is a Research Fellow at Monash University with a focus on clinical neuropsychology and implementation science. Her research supports health professionals in implementing evidence-based practices, particularly in the context of traumatic brain injury. She is associated with the Monash-Epworth Rehabilitation Research Centre (MERRC) at Epworth Healthcare in Richmond, Australia. Jo's work includes studies on the cognitive and psychosocial consequences of moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injuries, and she has been involved in significant projects like the ENGAGEMENT Trial, which evaluates self-management supports for respiratory conditions through digital tools and telehealth consultations. Jo also led the HAPPI MIND Trial that aimed to compare interventions assessing dementia risk in middle-aged adults within a primary care setting. Her expertise aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education and health. Jo holds a PhD in Implementation Science from the University of Melbourne and two degrees from Macquarie University: a Master of Clinical Neuropsychology and a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours. She has made contributions in dementia prevention, implementation science, and primary care over her research career.
