Biography

Jo Grundy is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton, having previously worked as a chemist and teacher in various capacities. She holds a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Sussex, earned in 2003. Her academic journey began with a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Exeter in 1996, followed by a P.G.C.E. from Durham in 1997. Jo transitioned back to academia after a brief gap, focusing on teaching A-Level Chemistry and mathematics while also engaging students in programming. She possesses a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southampton and worked as a Teaching Fellow in Computer Science before taking a position as a Research Fellow specializing in Machine Learning with Prof. M. Niranjan. Her research interests lie in vision, learning control, and advanced sensor array data, allowing her to engage in significant projects.
