Dr. Jo Winterbottom

Biography

Jo Winterbottom joined the Systems Science Public Health Research Group as a Senior Research Fellow in July 2023. She is an Affiliated Researcher at the University of Glasgow Centre for Public Policy. Her research focuses on using systems approaches to tackle health inequalities, emphasizing policy liaison to maximize outcomes and impact. She is a lead role in the Systems Transformation workstream of the GALLANT initiative, which aims to develop a Climate Resilient City through a partnership between the university and local government. Jo collaborates with teams to employ qualitative and quantitative systems science approaches to drive climate resilience while addressing health, social, and economic inequalities, drawing from the Doughnut Economics Framework and Wellbeing Economy principles.
