Dr. Joachim Wiewiura

Biography

Joachim Wiewiura is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for AI Ethics, Law, Policy at Aalborg University. He holds a PhD in Political Philosophy from the University of Copenhagen and has previously served as a research assistant and postdoctoral researcher at Aalborg University and the Humanomics Research Centre. Wiewiura has been a Fulbright Scholar at the MIT Media Lab and a visiting scholar at the University of Oxford's Internet Institute. His research interests primarily focus on the intersections of ethics, technology, and public policy, particularly in how AI impacts legitimacy and public discourse. He has authored and edited several influential texts in the field of political philosophy and has contributed to various academic journals and conferences. His notable publications include works on aesthetics, legitimacy, and the philosophical history of politics. Wiewiura engages actively in academic dialogue on the implications of AI and democracy, frequently presenting at international conferences. He has also coordinated significant research projects aimed at promoting responsible AI development and deployment, highlighting his commitment to bridging ethical considerations with technological advancements.
