Biography

Joanna Collicutt studied Experimental Psychology and later Theology at Oxford University, and Clinical Psychology and later Christianity and the Arts at King's College, London. She is a chartered clinical psychologist and a registered specialist neuropsychologist with years of experience working in the British National Health Service. Joanna transitioned to the field of psychology in religion and became the director of the MA programme in psychology and religion at Heythrop College, University of London, before returning to Oxford in 2010 to take on roles as Lecturer in Psychology and Spirituality at Ripon College Cuddesdon, and as an Older People’s Adviser for the Diocese of Oxford in 2020. She currently serves as a Supernumerary Fellow at Harris Manchester College and holds the position of Associate Priest in an Oxfordshire parish, as well as Honorary Canon at Christ Church Cathedral. Her interests are wide-ranging, with publications focusing on positive psychology, brain-behavior interactions, natural theology, psychological approaches to biblical texts, psychological trauma, spirituality in children and individuals with special needs, and the theology of death and medical ethics.
