Biography

Joanna Dipnall is a senior lecturer at Monash University with a focus on applied statistics and clinical registries. Her research predominantly revolves around machine learning and traditional statistical techniques. Joanna completed her Honours in Econometrics at Monash University and earned her PhD from Deakin University, where she developed the Risk Index of Depression (RID). She has collaborated extensively with the Faculty of IT at Monash to integrate artificial intelligence within health research. Joanna has also held external positions, including an Honorary Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Barwon Health since 2017. She has ongoing projects aimed at improving care for people with traumatic brain injury and advancing inclusion in emergency care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Joanna chaired the SPHPM Machine Learning Community Practice Group and is the Primary Course Director for the Master's in Health Data Analytics program.
