Biography

Dr. Joanna Przybyl is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at McGill University and a Principal Investigator in the Cancer Research Program at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC). She is also an Associate Member of the Department of Pathology and the Division of Experimental Medicine in the Department of Medicine at McGill University. Her research focuses on the clinical applications of liquid biopsy, metabolic reprogramming, and multi-omic profiling of sarcomas. Dr. Przybyl received her joint Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences from KU Leuven, Belgium, and the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Memorial Cancer Center Institute of Oncology in Warsaw, Poland, where she focused on identifying new prognostic and predictive markers for soft tissue sarcomas. She completed her postdoctoral training in computational biology in the laboratory of Dr. Matt van de Rijn at Stanford University, where her research demonstrated the potential clinical utility of ctDNA monitoring in patients with leiomyosarcoma and leiomyoma.
