Biography

Joanne Rathbone is a social health psychology researcher who employs theory-driven applied methods to investigate the social determinants of health behavior, with a particular focus on stigma, social identities, and intergroup relations. She was awarded her PhD in social psychology from the University of Queensland in November 2021, with her thesis examining the novel psychological and social determinants of weight stigma and its discrimination implications in public primary health care.
