Dr. Joao Frota Net

Biography

Chaired Professor of Operations Management, Joao Quariguasi Frota Net has undertaken important teaching, research, and administrative roles. He has taught at undergraduate, master's, and MBA levels, as well as in executive education programs in Brazil, the Netherlands, and the UK. Joao has extensive experience in content creation and has collaborated with universities in Brazil, the UK, and Singapore over the years. He has published in leading European and American journals in the fields of Operations Management and Operations Research, including the Production and Operations Management Journal and the European Journal of Operational Research. At the University of Manchester, he has worked as a liaison to facilitate cooperation between the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE) and Brazilian universities. He coordinated a student exchange program with Bath School of Management and has served as the academic director for the master's program in Supply Chain Project Management. Over the past ten years, Joao has dedicated his research to studying sustainable closed-loop supply chains and has diversified his portfolio to include socially responsible supply chains, aligning his work with UN Sustainable Development Goals to end poverty and protect the planet.
