Biography

Joao Gomes is the Howard Butcher III Professor of Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is the current Senior Vice Dean for Research, Centers, and Academic Initiatives and Chairperson of the Finance Department. Professor Gomes focuses on research interactions between financial markets, institutions, business cycles, and monetary policy. He has published notable work in the Journal of Finance and has been recognized with awards for his teaching and research contributions.
