Dr. Jochem Kroezen

Biography

Jochem Kroezen is an Associate Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research primarily focuses on processes of institutional change and revival persistence. He employs both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including meta-analysis and fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA). His work on revival craft within the Dutch beer brewing industry has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, with related articles appearing in the Academy of Management Annals and Business History. Kroezen is also involved in projects addressing socio-economic inequality and business collective action, particularly in the context of the alcohol industry and the issue of harmful alcohol use. His contributions to the field include ongoing research on collective memory and transformations in craft-based industries, as well as academic performance discrepancies among genders in research. Kroezen is an advocate of integrating historical context in academic inquiry to enhance the sustainable livelihoods of rural communities, particularly in Indonesia.
