Dr. Jochen Eckert

Biography

Jochen Eckert, born in 1940, is a retired professor who formerly held a position in the Institute of Psychology at the University of Hamburg. After completing his psychology studies in 1970, he worked as a clinical psychologist and was instrumental in establishing a psychotherapy station focusing on psychoanalytic therapy, behavior therapy, and client-centered therapy. He served as a professor of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy from 1990 to 2006, leading significant areas in client-centered psychotherapy and holding various important positions within the faculty. His research areas include psychotherapy research, diagnostics, and therapy of borderline personality disorders, as well as differential therapy indications. He has published extensively, contributing to books, scientific articles, and journals, making him a notable figure in psychotherapy research and education. He has also held editorial roles in various respected journals and contributed to the scientific community through his involvement in committees and associations related to psychotherapy.
