Biography

Jodi J. Schwartz focuses on the tax aspects of corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, spin-offs, and financial instruments. Ms. Schwartz is the principal tax lawyer for numerous domestic and cross-border transactions across a wide range of industries. Elected partner in 1990, she has been recognized as one of the world’s leading lawyers in the field of taxation. She has been included in the Chambers Global Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers and Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and is regarded as a tax expert by Euromoney Institutional Investor Expert Guides. Additionally, she is a member of the Executive Committee and past chair of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association, as well as a member of the American College of Tax Counsel. Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Schwartz serves as an officer of UJA-Federation NY and is a member of the Executive Committees of several boards, including Jewish Federations of North America, Penn Hillel, the Jewish Board, and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and she is on the Board of Advisors for Penn Carey Law, Browning School, and Gateway School.
