Biography

Dr. Jodie Wills is a biomechanics lecturer specializing in early-career research at the Department of Health Professions at Macquarie University. She earned her PhD from Macquarie University, focusing on neuromuscular biomechanical sex-specific adaptations targeted towards physical training for military load carriage. Jodie has been awarded the title of 3-Minute Thesis University Finalist, New South Wales semi-finalist in the Fame Lab live Scientific Communication Competition, and served as the student representative for the Australian New Zealand Society of Biomechanics for three years. She holds a Master of Research degree in Sport Science and a Bachelor of Science with honors in Sport and Exercise Science from Nottingham Trent University in England. As an accredited level 2 Strength and Conditioning Coach, Jodie’s research interests are centered on the optimization of physical training, neuromuscular biomechanical sex dimorphism, and their applications in military and sporting contexts.
