Jody trained as a clinical neuropsychologist of British Dutch descent and has worked in private practice and public health services for over a decade. She is an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor. In 2020, Jody co-chaired a national neuropsychology conference in partnership with the Australian Indigenous Psychology Association, focusing on a clinically responsive approach to neuropsychology assessments in justice settings. She has spent years in a community role helping to develop Social Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) services in Fitzroy Valley, Central Kimberley region, Western Australia. Jody is currently pursuing a PhD on decolonising neuropsychological practices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as on governance within those communities. She co-authored a forthcoming report titled “Decision-making and emotional behavioural regulation in 18 to 25-year-olds: a neurodevelopmental perspective.” In her work for the Australian Indigenous Psychology Education Project, she collaborates closely with Professor Pat Dudgeon. Jody's research interests include clinical neuropsychology, cognitive assessment, and decolonising psychology.
