Biography

Joe Curnow studies how people become politicized. His scholarship sits at the nexus of Learning Sciences, social movement studies, and equity studies. His research examines how individuals come to understand social problems, systemically learning issues related to race, colonialism, gender, patriarchy, class, and capitalism activism. Joe has experience working in social movements as a labor and community organizer. He was awarded the 2021 National Academy Education/Spencer Fellowship.
