Biography

Joe LoVetri is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in 1991 and has been an academic since then. His professional journey began in 1984 as an EMI/EMC engineer at Sperry Defence Division and included significant roles such as a TEMPEST Engineer for the Communications Security Establishment. He was also a Research Officer at the National Research Council Canada before joining the University of Western Ontario until 1999. His sabbatical at TNO Physics Electronics Laboratory in the Netherlands further enriched his research. His contributions to the field are recognized by awards including the URSI Young Scientist Award and the IEEE EMC Symposium Paper Award. He has served in leadership roles including Associate Dean of Research and as the Head of the ECE Department. His research interests focus on Electromagnetic Imaging and Inverse Problems, particularly in biomedical applications.
