Biography

Joel Bakan is a Professor at the Peter Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia, on sabbatical. He holds a BA from Simon Fraser University, a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University, an LLB from Dalhousie University, and an LLM from Harvard University. After serving as a Law Clerk to Chief Justice Brian Dickson of the Supreme Court of Canada in 1985, he joined the law faculty in 1990 as an Assistant Professor and later became an Associate Professor.
